#840 - 4 The Holy Test of Zen Heart, the protagonist is Chu Hao

They seemed to already know what the tribulation that Buddha had spoken of was, after all, according to the original plan, the Four Sages' Trial of Zen Heart just so happened to require Hell God Chu Hao's involvement…

If they could really arrange something for Chu Hao, even entangle him with the Western Paradise, wouldn't that be even better?!

The Western Paradise has never cared about the means to achieve their goals. If they could really tie Chu Hao's karma to the Western Paradise, wouldn't that be wonderful!

Buddha gently beckoned,

"Bodhisattva Manjusri, Bodhisattva Samantabhadra, come here, I have something I need your help with."

Ever since Bodhisattva Manjusri and Bodhisattva Samantabhadra caused the Western Paradise to be severely harmed in the Law Enforcement Hall last time, they had been like hermits upon returning to the Western Paradise.

After all, they had caused such a great disaster. If it were anyone else, they would have been thrown into reincarnation long ago to start cultivating again.

In fact, when Amitabha Buddha returned at the time, he had proposed this very thing.

However, Buddha firmly protected Manjusri and Samantabhadra. Buddha took the blame for the Western Paradise's disaster upon himself.

Even so, Bodhisattva Samantabhadra and Bodhisattva Manjusri both felt very apologetic, after all, they had坑害 (kēng hài, harmed) their boss.

Now, hearing Buddha's summons, Samantabhadra and Manjusri dared not neglect and quickly stepped forward.

"Buddha, what are your orders?"

Buddha took out a feather and handed it to Manjusri and Samantabhadra.

When Bodhisattva Manjusri and Bodhisattva Samantabhadra saw this supremely beautiful feather, they were stunned for a moment!

The beauty of this feather was dazzling, gorgeous, and overflowing with light, making hundreds of flowers blush with shame and clouds lose their color. It also had Yin and Yang energies flowing on it.

It was truly mysterious and beautiful.

Bodhisattva Manjusri was the first to react, and said in surprise:

"Originally, this item was not needed to test Tang Sanzang's mortal heart, but since Chu Hao has come here, throwing himself into the net, he will have no choice!"

"If this Yin-Yang Peacock Feather can be implanted into that Hell God Chu Hao's body, causing him to commit the great mistake of breaking the precept against lust, it will surely cause him to disrupt his own Yin and Yang,"

"At best, his cultivation will be reduced, and he will have to replenish his Yin by extracting Yang; at worst, it will turn Chu Hao into a running dog of the Western Paradise, forever沦丧 (lún sàng, degenerate) in lust, unable to extricate himself."

Bodhisattva Manjusri and Bodhisattva Samantabhadra were both shocked.

"Such a treasure?"

Buddha smiled coldly.

"If it were used on someone else, it wouldn't be so effective, but this Chu Hao is an anomaly. Even though he has become a great power, he still retains his humanity."

"Humanity is ugly, and the seven emotions and six desires are the greatest weaknesses. If this treasure is used against him, it can trap him in such a desperate situation."

"Heh, wanting to become a saint without severing the seven emotions and six desires, without abandoning humanity?"

Buddha's eyes were full of ridicule. This was Chu Hao's greatest weakness.

Chu Hao acts as he pleases now, and what he reveals are all the weaknesses of humanity, especially love.

He even allowed Chu Hao to结为连理 (jié wéi lián lǐ, become married) with Fairy Neon Clothes in the Heavenly Court, setting a precedent.

In Buddha's eyes, this was a huge weakness!

Although Chu Hao is usually arrogant and unbridled, and it is always the Western Paradise that suffers,

Buddha is very clear that if he uses this thing to deal with Chu Hao, he will be able to target the seven emotions and six desires that Chu Hao has not washed away from his humanity!

Especially since this feather is not an ordinary object, it was bestowed by the Buddha Mother, the Peacock King!

What is the identity of the Peacock King?

It is Kong Xuan!

Kong Xuan was incredibly powerful in the Investiture of the Gods. He had an extraordinary background. His original form was the first peacock in the world.

Back then, during the Investiture of the Gods, he forced Jiang Ziya to hang up the免战牌 (miǎn zhàn pái, truce sign), and even Daoist Randeng could not subdue him. He was basically the supreme combat power below the saints.

In the end, Taoist Zhunti personally took action, using the excuse that he had a connection with the Western Paradise, defeated Kong Xuan,

From then on, Kong Xuan归于 (guī yú, belonged to) the Western Paradise and was named the Peacock King, who is now the Buddha Mother.

This Kong Xuan is much more awesome than the Crow's Nest Zen Master. Back then, when Lu Ya faced Kong Xuan's Five-Colored Divine Light, he could only run away…

Of course, these are all past events.

But this time, in order to deal with Chu Hao, Buddha personally went to ask the Peacock King, who was countless times stronger than himself, for a magical weapon that could perfectly deal with Chu Hao!

Buddha's eyes were full of sinister intent.

"Hell God Chu Hao, from now on, the ninety-nine eighty-one tribulations should not be the tribulations of my Western Paradise, but your tribulations. It is time for me to deal with you!"

"Manjusri and Samantabhadra, you go and arrange the next tribulation now, and be sure to make Chu Hao交合 (jiāo hé, join; unite) with you in Yin and Yang."

Bodhisattva Manjusri and Bodhisattva Samantabhadra bowed and said:

"We respectfully obey the Buddha's decree."

Having become Bodhisattvas, they had long abandoned the seven emotions and six desires, so naturally they would not care about such things as Yin-Yang交合 (jiāo hé, joining).

After all, this kind of thing has been written about more than once or twice in the Buddhist scriptures. Bodhisattva Guanyin had done it before using her Dharma body…

It's just that this time they will have to personally test it with their physical bodies.

Bodhisattva Manjusri and Bodhisattva Samantabhadra quickly disappeared from the Western Paradise to prepare for the tribulation.

However, this time, testing Tang Sanzang was secondary, and finding an opportunity to arrange something for Chu Hao was the key.

Chu Hao was in the Journey to the West, taking people's money and helping them eliminate disasters, and Chu Hao did a good job.

In order to let Tang Sanzang be able to enjoy the超度 (chāo dù, to save; to deliver (to paradise)) of these bandits, Chu Hao specially found a deserted place and踩 (cǎi, stepped) Guanyin Bodhisattva on the ground,

Not allowing Guanyin Bodhisattva to disturb Tang Sanzang's雅兴 (yǎ xìng, refined interest) of killing and arson, Chu Hao felt that he was simply仁至义尽 (rén zhì yì jìn, to be kind and do one's best) to the Western Paradise!

There is not a single person as kind as him!

Guanyin Bodhisattva felt extremely humiliated, but there was no way to struggle out.

Thinking that she was likely to be糟蹋 (zāo tà, defiled; violated) by Chu Hao, a hint of small expectation flashed in Guanyin Bodhisattva's eyes…

However, over there, Tang Sanzang finally finished killing all the bandits. Chu Hao moved his foot away from Guanyin and wiped the sole of his shoe with disgust.

"Great Master Guanyin, everyone is doing this to allow Tang Sanzang to appreciate the true Dharma. Please forgive me…"

"Of course, it's mainly because you can't do anything to me even if you blame me, so you have to learn to forgive, oh嚯嚯嚯嚯…"

Guanyin Bodhisattva angrily got up from the ground, brushed the dust off her body, and glared at Chu Hao.

But she didn't dare to really glare.

Guanyin Bodhisattva just gritted her teeth and said阴声道 (yīn shēng dào, in a low and sinister voice):

"Chu Hao, I advise you not to be too嚣张 (xiāo zhāng, arrogant), my Western Paradise has been watching you. If you dare to mess around, the next one to be suppressed under the Five Elements Mountain will be you!"

Chu Hao looked鄙夷 (bǐ yí, contemptuous) and said:

"Silly child, Buddha's hand has already broken off a finger, now it should be Four Elements Mountain."

"If he could really suppress me, he would have done it long ago, why wait until now?"

Guanyin Bodhisattva was exasperated, but could only be无能狂怒 (wú néng kuáng nù, rage in impotence).
