#1778 - Huanghua Temple, Hundred-Eyed Demon Lord
#1778 - Huanghua Temple, Hundred-Eyed Demon Lord
In the Western Paradise, at the Great Thunderclap Temple.
Guanyin returned with a group of female Bodhisattvas and informed Buddha about the events at the Spider Cave.
Hearing that the tribulation had not been affected, Buddha said in a deep voice, "This tribulation still requires Guanyin to personally oversee and supervise carefully, lest Chu Hao find loopholes."
This Buddha was also afraid of being tricked by Chu Hao, and even wanted Guanyin to descend to the mortal realm.
Guanyin accepted the order and left with谛听 (Dìtīng).
On the other side, the Tang Monk and his disciples saw a Taoist temple resembling a pavilion ahead, and they quickly walked towards it. Soon, they saw the vermilion gate with a plaque above that read: Yellow Flower Temple.
Sun Wukong went up and knocked on the door. After a while, a fairy boy came out. Seeing his pointy mouth and monkey-like cheeks, he was shocked: "What monster are you!"
He shouted and pretended to close the door.
Tang Monk quickly walked over and bowed, saying, "This humble monk comes from the Great Tang Dynasty in the East."
"A monk from the Great Tang?" The fairy boy sized up Tang Monk and then looked at Sun Wukong: "Then who are they?"
"They are my disciples. Little master, please inform the master of this temple whether this humble monk can ask for a vegetarian meal," Tang Monk said, bowing.
"Then you can come in first," the fairy boy said, opening the door.
The four entered and walked up the stairs to a pavilion, where they sat down.
After a while, the Centipede Demon Lord walked over. Dressed in a yellow robe, he had a smile on his face and bowed to Tang Monk: "So it's the eminent monk from the Great Tang. Please take a seat."
"Venerable one, you don't need to be so polite. This humble monk only wants to ask for a vegetarian meal," Tang Monk said, rising.
"So that's the case. The vegetarian meal is being prepared, please wait a moment, masters," the Centipede Demon Lord said with a smile, sitting next to Tang Monk.
His amiable appearance put the Tang Monk and his disciples at ease.
After chatting for a while, the Centipede Demon Lord suddenly stood up and said, "The journey has been arduous. You masters must be thirsty. I have excellent jujube tea here. Please wait a moment while I brew some for you."
"Then we will have to trouble you, master," Tang Monk said, bowing.
The Centipede Demon Lord left and went to the side hall, where the seven spider demons were also present.
"Junior sister, senior brother is avenging you," the Centipede Demon Lord said seriously.
"But senior brother, a slight punishment is enough, there's no need to take a life," the eldest spider demon said.
She knew that the Centipede Demon Lord was first-rate at concocting medicine. If Tang Monk and his disciples drank this poison, even a quasi-sage would be poisoned, let alone mortals.
"Hey, junior sister, don't you know that eating Tang Monk's flesh can grant immortality? When senior brother poisons them, kills Tang Monk, then we, senior brothers and sisters, can share the meat," the Centipede Demon Lord said with a cruel smile.
This was actually his intention. As for revenge, it was just a side benefit.
After all, the allure of Tang Monk's flesh was too great.
The seven spider demons wanted to stop him, but the Centipede Demon Lord looked angry: "Junior sisters, I'm doing this for you, yet you repeatedly stop me. It really chills my heart!"
Hearing this, the seven spider demons didn't dare to stop him. They could only watch the Centipede Demon Lord poison the tea, exchanging glances and thinking of other ways.
On the other side, Chu Hao had already stewed the true form of the Cīlánpo Bodhisattva into a pot of fragrant old hen soup. This soup was incredibly rich and full of spiritual power. A sip would greatly benefit one's cultivation.
Chu Hao tasted a little and immediately felt his spiritual power surge, and even his realm showed a slight loosening.
"Good soup," Chu Hao said contentedly.
Suddenly, he remembered that Tang Monk and the others were still waiting for him, and he intended to call them over to drink the soup as well.
So, he cast another barrier and transformed into a stream of light, arriving at the previous location, only to find that Tang Monk and his disciples were gone.
He immediately called out the local earth deity and learned that they had gone to the Yellow Flower Temple.
Chu Hao naturally knew about the Yellow Flower Temple. The master of the temple, the Centipede Demon Lord, was the spider demons' senior brother, skilled in poisoning. If one was poisoned by him, even a quasi-sage couldn't resist it.
He was busy stewing soup and forgot about this for a moment. If Tang Monk and the others were poisoned, he would have to find an antidote. He quickly used Shrinking Earth into an Inch, heading towards the Yellow Flower Temple.
On the other side, Guanyin and Dìtīng, arranged by Buddha, also came to the Yellow Flower Temple. In order to supervise Tang Monk and the others, they also came here.
Their main purpose here was to pull Chu Hao away to prevent him from disrupting the plan.
Just arriving, they saw a figure entering the Yellow Flower Temple, it was Chu Hao.
At this moment, Chu Hao instantly appeared and sat next to Tang Monk.
"Immortal Master?" Tang Monk was startled, thinking it was a monster.
Chu Hao sat down and asked, "Where's the master of the temple?"
"Boss, the master of the temple is preparing a vegetarian meal. He said he would brew us a cup of tea, but it hasn't been delivered yet," Pigsy said, lying on the table.
Hearing about drinking tea, Chu Hao fell into thought.
"Chu Hao, can you come here for a moment?" At this time, Guanyin had already arrived outside the temple, transmitting her voice to Chu Hao.
"What is it?" Chu Hao asked.
"There are some things I want to discuss with you," Guanyin continued to transmit her voice.
Hearing this, Chu Hao's heart sank, feeling that it was not simple.
At that moment, the Centipede Demon Lord came over with hot tea. Seeing an extra person, he was stunned for a moment, and immediately said with a smile, "So there is another master. I only prepared four cups of tea, wait for me to prepare more."
Saying that, he put down the hot tea and turned to leave.
Seeing the hot tea, Pigsy, who was already parched, immediately grabbed a cup.
Then Chu Hao glared at him, and he shuddered, quickly handing the tea in his hand to Chu Hao.
Chu Hao didn't say much. He slightly raised his hand and took all four cups of tea into his bag, then took out two large cups and poured the tea into them respectively.
"I'll be right back, wait a moment, pretend you've already finished drinking," Chu Hao said.
"But boss," Pigsy wanted to say that he hadn't drunk yet.
"You idiot, Chu Hao brother must have his own ideas," Sun Wukong said sternly. He had just noticed that something was wrong with the tea.
At this moment, Chu Hao took the two large cups of tea outside.
"Great Guanyin, what's the matter? Come drink tea," Chu Hao saw Guanyin and Dìtīng, and smiled as he handed over the tea in his hand.
Guanyin didn't react for a moment and took it.
Dìtīng, standing next to them, looked at the two of them, one cup each, excluding himself, and immediately said dissatisfied, "Prison God, did you only prepare two cups?"
Chu Hao looked embarrassed: "I thought there was only Great Guanyin alone, how about this, I'll give you my cup."
Saying that, he handed it over.
