#1772 - Tang Monk angrily slaps the Bodhisattva

The Jade Emperor, like the Buddha, was a cunning and calculating being, full of schemes.

This time, when he suddenly sent Guanyin to inquire with the Buddha, the Buddha immediately sensed something was amiss and quickly discovered the pit that the Jade Emperor had dug.

Although the pit wasn't large, if he jumped into it, it would take a lot of effort to get out.

Therefore, he replied, "This is a matter of the Heavenly Court; I am not in a position to decide."

Seeing that the Buddha didn't want to interfere, Guanyin said, "But Buddha, this tribulation cannot be without it."

The Buddha looked towards the Buddhas and asked, "What are your thoughts?"

At this time, the Bodhisattva Bǎoyuèguāng stood forward and said, "Since this tribulation requires the participation of seven female demons, why don't we replace these demons with Bodhisattvas?"

These words enlightened the Buddha, and he nodded, saying, "Indeed, although there won't be any female demons, Venerable Guanyin and other female Bodhisattvas can transform into demons to complete this tribulation."

Guanyin was stunned for a moment, thinking, 'It can be done like this?'

But since the Buddha had spoken, she had no choice but to comply.

Soon, the Buddha selected six female Bodhisattvas, led by Guanyin, to go to the mortal realm to complete this tribulation.

On the way, Guanyin looked at the Bodhisattva Duōluó beside her and said, "This journey will be a hardship for you all."

Bodhisattva Duōluó shook her head and replied, "For the sake of the Journey to the West, it is nothing."

...

In the mortal realm, Tang Sanzang and the others left the Spider Cave and walked for about two more days on the mountain road when they suddenly saw another village ahead.

Zhu Bajie was overjoyed and said, "Master, look, there's a village! I'm going to beg for alms."

After speaking, he didn't care whether Tang Sanzang agreed or not and directly ran forward, sleeves flying, at an extremely fast speed.

"This fool is always thinking about food," Sun Wukong said, shaking his head.

Full of anticipation, Zhu Bajie quickly arrived in front of the village and, looking at the vermilion gate, knocked on it, saying, "Is anyone home?"

Gā zhī—

The door was pushed open, and a beautiful woman with a pretty face and a fiery figure opened the door, looking at Zhu Bajie with alluring eyes and a gentle voice, asking, "Who are you?"

Seeing such a beautiful woman, Zhu Bajie was stunned for a moment, saliva almost drooling out.

Zhu Bajie walked into the village as if his soul had been taken away, and then he saw six graceful and elegant beauties surrounding the dining table, each one like a fairy descended from heaven, every smile and frown captivating.

"Hey, monk, my sisters and I are eating. Why don't you call your master to join us?" A woman dressed in a white dress said; it was Guanyin in disguise.

"Okay, okay, I'll call my master and the others right away," Zhu Bajie said, overjoyed, and quickly turned around and walked outside, completely oblivious to why the other party knew he had a master.

Zhu Bajie ran towards the forest, shouting, "Master, Master, that family is eating; they want us to join them."

He was extremely excited; even before he arrived, his voice had already reached them.

Perhaps because of the previous example of the seven female spider demons, Tang Sanzang felt very favorable towards the people in the mountain village, so he nodded and said, "Alright, let's go over."

Soon, they arrived in front of the village and entered.

As soon as they entered, Tang Sanzang and Sun Wukong noticed something was wrong.

Because there were also seven beautiful women in this village, they exchanged glances with each other, each seeing the other's suspicion.

Especially Sun Wukong, besides suspicion, there was also a hint of fear. That's right, it was fear because, under his Fiery Eyes and Golden Gaze, these seven beautiful women were all glowing with Buddha's light and had extraordinary origins.

These weren't demons; these were all Bodhisattvas!

He instantly understood that this might be a plan of the Western Paradise, and he didn't dare to remind the others, so he could only choose to remain silent.

"This must be the eminent monk from the Tang Dynasty. Come, come, come inside and sit," Bodhisattva Duōluó said with a smile, wanting to take Tang Sanzang's hand.

Then, Tang Sanzang's expression suddenly changed, and he raised his right hand and directly slapped Bodhisattva Duōluó in the face, shouting, "Bold fiend!"

Tang Sanzang was aggressive and shouted loudly.

Instantly, everyone present was dumbfounded.

At this time, Tang Sanzang immediately stood in front of his three disciples and said, "Wukong, Bajie, Wujing, be careful; they are transformed from demons!"

Zhu Bajie looked bewildered; infatuated with beauty, he didn't quite believe it.

Sha Seng was suspicious because he didn't sense any demonic aura.

Sun Wukong's face was pale as he looked at the Bodhisattva who had been slapped, and he frantically chanted in his heart: I didn't see anything; I didn't see anything.

On the other side, Bodhisattva Duōluó stood frozen in place, not yet reacting.

As a Bodhisattva, this was the first time she had been slapped in the face. Although it didn't hurt, it was completely trampling on her dignity.

She stared at Tang Sanzang, suddenly feeling an urge to kill him.

Just then, a female Bodhisattva quickly walked over, took her hand, and then smiled at Tang Sanzang, saying, "This holy monk, are you mistaken? We sisters have lived here since we were little. Or did you encounter demons who look like us?"

"Hmph, don't even think about deceiving me," Tang Sanzang coldly snorted and, with lightning speed, slapped that female Bodhisattva in the face again.

The female Bodhisattva was directly dumbfounded, as were the other female Bodhisattvas.

The two female Bodhisattvas who had been slapped were both furious, and a terrifying pressure suddenly descended.

"Wukong, let's go quickly," Tang Sanzang immediately shouted, feeling the heavy, mountain-like pressure.

Although Zhu Bajie and Sha Seng didn't know what was happening, looking at the situation, it was best to run first.

As for Sun Wukong, he had wanted to run long ago. Before Tang Sanzang's words had even finished, he had already rushed out.

Bodhisattva Duōluó was planning to chase after them, but Guanyin quickly stopped them, saying, "Calm down, you must calm down. If Tang Sanzang finds out, everything will be ruined."

The two female Bodhisattvas then calmed down.

At this time, Guanyin sighed and said, "No one expected this to be the result. Let's go back and report to the Buddha."

Currently, the two female Bodhisattvas were still angry, so Guanyin quickly took them back to Mount Ling.

As the Bodhisattvas left, the village instantly disappeared.

Seeing this scene, Tang Sanzang laughed loudly, saying, "Hahaha, did you see that? Your master saw that they weren't human long ago."

"Master, when did you gain this supernatural power?" Zhu Bajie asked suspiciously.

"You were blinded by the demon's beauty and naturally couldn't see clearly," Tang Sanzang glared at him.

"But Brother Monkey didn't see clearly either," Zhu Bajie said.

Usually, when there were demons, Sun Wukong would be the first to react, but this time, Sun Wukong didn't say a word.

"Hehe. So, Master, those two slaps..." Sun Wukong said with an awkward smile, "Were they intentional or accidental?"

Tang Sanzang proudly raised his head, saying, "Intentional!"

He thought, 'It's a good thing these Bodhisattvas have good tempers; otherwise, Master, you wouldn't have lived to go to the Western Paradise.'

Thinking of those loud slaps, Sun Wukong felt a burst of lingering fear.
