#1555 - Under Hell, Burying the Future
#1555 - Under Hell, Burying the Future
Chu Hao stepped into the pagoda. The first thing he saw upon entering made his eyes widen, and he almost threw up!
Even with Chu Hao's exceptionally strong mental fortitude, the scene before him was ten times more terrifying than the Avici Hell!
In the center of the pagoda, a mountain of corpses was piled high. These weren't ordinary corpses.
They hadn't decayed, and one could clearly distinguish the bodies of demons, gods, immortals, Buddhas, mountain spirits, and wild monsters… even corpses of the Abyss Demon race!
Every kind was present.
Moreover, not a single corpse was complete.
Many corpses had been precisely divided into countless parts, with limbs, eyes, ears, mouths, and noses all cut away, leaving behind a mountain of human swine!
And Chu Hao saw where those limbs and organs had gone…
Inside the pagoda, each level had golden urns enshrined. Most of these urns were sealed. Chu Hao casually kicked open a lid.
Then…
He saw a heap of limbs and organs piled together inside the golden urn, stuffed in haphazardly.
Yet, despite this terrifying place, the surroundings were filled with the sounds of Buddhist chants and swirling auspicious clouds, a celestial paradise within the Western Paradise!
The chanting he heard, combined with the golden urns and the mountain of corpses, created a scene so shocking that even Chu Hao couldn't bear it.
Chu Hao took a few steps back, his eyes filled with shock.
Even though his heart was as firm as a rock, he had never seen such a sight, nor had he imagined that such a terrifying place could exist!
Piling limbs and organs into golden urns, and then placing millions of these urns inside the pagoda… what exactly was the Western Paradise doing?
And where did these corpses come from…
Chu Hao suddenly realized a more terrifying truth: he actually knew where these corpses came from…
Thinking about it, wasn't the eighteen levels of hell the perfect place to create these fragmented corpses?
Indeed, whether it was tongue-pulling, eye-gouging, or limb-chopping… those were all tasks of the eighteen levels of hell! The Western Paradise had long established a detailed division of labor, processing those who fell into hell on an assembly line!
Perhaps the corpses piled here were those beings captured by the Western Paradise, or those who had disobeyed them…
Whether human, immortal, god, Buddha, demon, or monster, as long as they angered the Western Paradise, they would be thrown in here, becoming the contents of an urn…
Chu Hao suddenly thought, if the Western Paradise succeeded in replacing Sun Wukong with the corpse of the Six-Eared Macaque, would Sun Wukong and the others also be dismembered and placed in these urns?
It seemed… entirely possible!
Chu Hao broke out in a cold sweat. Not to mention Sun Wukong and the others, even he himself, if he were to be defeated one day, would be chopped up and placed in a golden urn!
Chu Hao shook his head violently, wanting to take a deep breath, but the strong smell of blood and the terrifying scene made it difficult for him to calm his mind.
Chu Hao surveyed the entire pagoda, looking at the millions of golden urns, and felt an impulse to destroy the entire structure.
In fact, Chu Hao actually did it.
He unleashed the God-Slaying Spear. The spear moved like a dragon, and with the full power of a Sixth-Rank Quasi-Sage, he bombarded the pagoda!
However, the expected scene did not occur.
Such a powerful attack, landing on the pagoda, was still blocked by the faint fluorescent light that arose.
The terrifying power of the soul within the pagoda prevented any attack from creating even a ripple.
Chu Hao twitched his lips, not expecting that even a Sixth-Rank Quasi-Sage couldn't even kick up a speck of dust here.
And… it brought trouble…
Just after all the power of Chu Hao's spear was blocked, suddenly, he heard a strange sound from the top of the pagoda.
Chu Hao looked up and noticed that on the ninth level of the pagoda, there was a row of very special things enshrined.
These were not urns, but something Chu Hao was more familiar with.
Golden Buddha bodies!
A familiar figure flashed through Chu Hao's mind: Namo Wisdom Banner Buddha.
That's right, what was enshrined on the ninth level of the pagoda were beings who had been turned into golden-bodied Buddhas.
Each golden body was so familiar, just like Wisdom Banner Buddha, who Chu Hao still had locked up in the Law Enforcement Hall prison. Perhaps the Wisdom Banner Buddha, who had never appeared in the Three Realms and Six Paths, had come from here.
Moreover, when Chu Hao had just entered, the Ghost Kings and Yama had said that a Buddha had once walked out from here.
Chu Hao glanced at the row of Buddha statues, and couldn't help but be surprised.
This wasn't just one or two; the rows placed together numbered in the hundreds or thousands.
Perhaps these were the hidden powerhouses of the Western Paradise.
Could there really be hundreds or thousands of beings like Wisdom Banner Buddha?
Although Chu Hao had previously guessed from Wisdom Banner Buddha that he came from Avici Hell, he hadn't expected them to be in this strange pagoda beneath the eighteen levels of hell. It was truly bizarre.
Why were so many Buddhas buried in this place?
What was the point?
Pa ta…
Just then, another faint sound came.
Chu Hao looked over and saw one of the golden Buddhas suddenly crack open.
A Buddhist chant suddenly rang out, like a great bell, echoing throughout the pagoda:
"Cultivating goodness brings blessings. Doing evil brings misfortune. The principle is clear. But those who believe and understand are few. We are born together in this evil world of the five turbidities. The five aggregates of affliction and the three poisons are raging. Reincarnation in life and death is endless."
"In the past, when the Buddha was in the world, the number of people was like the Ganges sands, but now it has gradually withered, with not one in ten thousand remaining. Why is this so? Because those who do good are few, and those who do evil are many. After death, they fall into the three evil paths, becoming fish, insects, and livestock. They will never again obtain a human body."
"Therefore, the Lotus Sutra says: The three evil paths are full, and the heavenly beings are decreasing. The end of the kalpa is not long, and decline is lamentable. Therefore, the Tathagata teaches in all directions, cherishing kindness and valuing goodness, not sparing body and life…"
Listening to these chants, Chu Hao suddenly seemed to understand something from the words.
Perhaps, it wasn't just this pagoda that was like this. The evil world of the five turbidities that they attacked in the past was also the same.
It was all because of the so-called many evildoers, who were dragged into the depths of hell. The Tathagata made sentient beings not spare their lives, creating this mountain of corpses.
And the identities of that pile of golden Buddhas… those who were well-versed in Buddhist scriptures would know immediately…"
