All Babies Sleep Differently
Sleeping on a sofa or chair with a baby is very dangerous and should always be avoided. If parents fall asleep with their baby they are much safer in a bed than on a sofa or chair. Also, white noise helps obscure the early morning sounds of birds, dogs, traffic, and the neighbors. And sometimes the sound even helps a baby successfully ignore the early morning light. When people talk about sleep regression, they are usually referring to when your child starts waking up during the night and has trouble falling back asleep. There are many causes, and the triggers could be different at different stages of a child’s development. They are always keeping their eyes peeled for anything that helps their little one sleep well. They know it’s what’s best for baby – and of course, much better for them, too. Sunlight triggers cortisol which keeps us alert. Therefore we recommend blackout blinds as they are useful for spring/summer months with their light evenings and early mornings. They are also useful for naps during the day. A very common problem parents’ face, after all, what’s more natural than holding your baby tight and letting them fall to sleep. Yet it becomes a challenge when this is the only way your baby will sleep and the minute you lay them down they wake. Keep your baby in a smoke-free environment - which includes your home, car and other places where the baby spends time - during pregnancy and after birth. Be prepared to change routines as your baby grows and enters different stages of development. And remember, growth spurts, teething and illnesses can all affect how your baby sleeps. Getting Baby To Nap Longer
Babies spend more time in light sleep than adults and your baby will quickly notice when you’ve moved him from the warmth of your arms to his cot. Try the gradual retreat method: you start off by staying close to his cot while he goes to sleep, and then each night you gradually move a little further away until finally you’re outside the door.
