Jagex might think that Runescape will be OSRS gold able to survive if it adapts to all MMOs. An interesting variation on adapt or die. Jmods have a narrow choice of choices when it comes to who and what they can communicate with. It's just a matter time. They are able to talk to a handful of people each day. Most Jmods will talk to only a handful of players, if any. These relationships will have developed through time, and will essentially be "Yes!" groups that follow the Jmod's lead. Fmods (some disguised Jmods) are accountable for ending any disagreement on forums.
Jagex must be changed. Fmods must be eliminated. Fmods must become a salaried position for Jagex. Fmods should stop referring to players by the name of "you bunch" or something similar. Certain Fmods are actively destroying sections of the forums.
Second, update forums with more voices and more choice. Users can block other users and have access to other tools, and can create networks within forums. Give the RS forums the same flexibility as Facebook which is a easy way to group them. However, they are not player-driven, unlike all these secret forums that Jagex has been putting on the forums and turning the forums into rigid regions.
Establish a player council, and allow players to choose 12 members that will have the power to approve updates. It's a small budget, a few hundred k per year or thereabouts. Facebook and Twitter are able to facilitate dialogue between users.
This will help to avoid instances like 2012, when Jagex did not listen to feedback from players. Jagex's statements that 90% love SoF and 80% like EoC are utterly absurd are just one instance. It's either you adapt or go out of business. Talking is better, but times are running out. Tick Tock Jagex.
EOC fans are an integral part of my daily life. It's amazing how technology and games continue to improve. Recall 13 years ago the release of Runescape. Consider how technology has changed over the past 13 years.
Consider the number of runescape players who left to join other MMORPGs which use a similar system. Of course I am talking about World of Warcraft. While I don't think runescape should cheap RuneScape gold look more like WOW, it is a common custom for the majority of players to use EOC-style HCI. What is the reason 99% of players do this?
