Jurgen Gouldner, head of the hydrogen technology department at BMW, who holds the post of vice president of the automaker, said in an interview with The Telegraph that the cooperation between BMW and Toyota by 2025 will make hydrogen-powered cars no more expensive to produce ICE cars.

The partnership between BMW and Toyota in the field of modernization and implementation of power units that use the energy of chemical reactions with hydrogen, begins in 2015. From that moment, partners are already developing a third-generation power unit, the one that is not more energy-intensive in industrial production than the production of an internal combustion engine with its fuel system and large gearboxes.

One of the main factors of cost reduction is the rejection of the use of platinum as a catalyst for a chemical reaction. Companies were able to find a method to reduce the use of platinum to a negligible amount.

Fully functional concepts based on the BMW X5 are already being tested. On full cylinders they pass 400 - 480 km. In 2022, when they are offered on the market, this figure will be increased to at least 560 km. After X5, the X6 and X7 will be equipped with a hydrogen power plant.

Everyone who is working on introducing Japanese hydrogen into the production of hydrogen machines, Koreans - with widespread plans confirm that the market entry window is just a 5-year period between 2025 and 2030, Gouldner emphasizes. Infiniti delayed the launch of a new coupe-like crossover

Infiniti decided to postpone the start of production of the QX55 coupe-crossover, which will face serious competition with the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, for several months.

Foreign media reported that Infiniti postponed the start of production of the QX55 coupe-shaped crossover, which has not yet been presented to the public. According to News, the used crossover was supposed to get to the conveyor in June this year, but now the start of production of the Infiniti QX55 was postponed for five months - until November 2020. The manufacturer discloses information about his future debutant in a dosed manner. The brand showed intriguing teasers of new items and stopped there.

According to experts, the cross-coupe Infiniti QX55 will have to compete with coupe-like SUVs from the premium segment of the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.

The main components and assemblies of the cross-coupe, apparently, will borrow from the standard QX50. Recall that under the hood of such a crossover is a two-liter 272-horsepower “turbo four” (the Russian version produces 249 hp of power), combined with a CVT and all-wheel drive system. In Russia, for the most affordable crossover they ask 3,075,000 rubles.

The release of the new Infiniti QX55 coupe will be engaged in a factory located in the Mexican city of Aguascalientes. In the North American market, the cross-coupe will appear by December 2020, in other markets it should not be expected before 2021
